In our activity of Live to Love we concentrate our effort in seeding trees in the orchard of the school of Soccma. Some weeks ago we seeded many medicinal plants in a space behind the school; however the plants were eaten by the animals. This time we bought fruit trees and some native plants. Sunday, the children and the professors were waiting for us in Soccma they are very energetic and love to collaborate, they pay attention to each one of the indications and they fulfill them warmly.
We began our early day, the children helped in many activities, themselves removed some stones and they helped with its tools, the children have the ability to learn very fast, we were surprised how well they knew many native trees that we didn’t know. To avoid what happen e last time, we delegated people in charge who are the “padrinos” god fathers of the trees. We in charge them their care and protection. They will water the trees and guard their growth. This time also we were careful in putting some protective obstacles around the plants with the hope that the animals do not destroy them. Following that day we all shared a snack together.
DRUKPA CUSCO-PERU
This third Sunday of September, filled with best intentions, our wish was to release in their natural environment fish whose destiny at short-term was a sure death.
Quickly we were confronted to a certain amount of enigma. Which fish in which environment? How to respect the ecosystem? And above all, where to find living fish in the capital area?

As we until today concentrated our Live to Love actions in the rooms of environnment and social work, we decided this time to focus on the medical area. So we went together on monday the 22, to the main hospital in Geneva to donate our blood for medicine use. Unfortunately only very few members of our sangha could gather that day and the three people who were there had to give up this project as the doctors refused to take blood from them for some medical reasons. As we were little disappointed, and the month already nearly finished, we decided to donate some financial support for this time, to help poor people in the cold streets of the city who have to beg for there survival… We will try to make some more actions in the medical area in the next few months… At least that try has had the benefit of making us aware of the immense need of blood in hospitals and we will surely give our blood as soon as we can again!
Sometimes the people from the animal home ask us in between if we have time to help, so Tara and I agreed to come and clean, because for the day of open doors next day they wanted to have a proper home. I asked my mother if she also likes to help and she agreed spontaneously and took her granddaughter, Tara’s cousin, with her, so that both girls cleaned together and me and my mother, which went very harmoniously. We also baked a cake for the next-day-event, where quite a lot of people came and hopefully felt in love with the one or other dog or cat to give them a nice new home. Anyhow it was a pleasure to help and to see that it is becoming for Tara more and more natural to help without expecting something ( and for the patients too)

With the prayers and wishes to help all the sentient beings, the Annual Drukpa Council members in Bhutan initiated the first ever “Live to Love” activity in Bhutan on the 27th of September 28, 2008. The members were blessed with the presence of H.E the IXth Khamtrul Rimpoche and H.E the IInd Thuksey Rimpoche.
The members of ADC and other few volunteers made a visit to the dog pound at Memelakha and Wangchutaba, Thimphu, Bhutan to feed more than 1000 sick, malnourished and also dying dogs. Many dogs cried to be freed as they must have felt like prisoners and many had been injured due to the fights among themselves. For the comfort of the human beings the dogs were impounded in the area very uncomfortable with not enough food to eat. It is like snatching away the right of the dogs to live.

Last Sunday September 21st, a small group of people went to the seaside for the Live to Love activity. Thanks to the financial participation of a few more people, who could not join us, we were able to buy around 17 kilos of winkles and 1 kilo of clams. We went to the sea to release the beings. First we gave some mendrup to the animals, then did two practices together near them and recited some mantras of Avalokiteshvara while we were releasing them. We were very happy to have given them a new chance in an appropriate place so that they might not be fished by human beings soon (hopefully). We went to two different spots : one appropriate for the winkles, the second one for the clams. We stopped a while at the second spot to picnic, as we wanted to wait for the low tide to release the clams.
