Every third sunday we do life releasing of crabs, shells and eels. Today, our family went to clean the beach. We explain to our daughter the importance of loving and taking care of our mother earth. She is the one who provides us with everything we need to live, and by cleaning the beach we also prevent that some animals living in the ocean get sick or die by eating plastic. Afterwards, having His Holiness in our heart we cleaned with lots of joy.

We have practiced together and shared our joy of coming together.
Today it was very cold as we joined together and we met only a few of the homeless in the familiar places. Under the bridge where Mario is living, we only came across Willi in his tent, so we left our donations in the empty tents and we also did this in the other places.
Today was a special day filled with much simplicity, warmth and love. The pleasure of giving was absolutely in the foreground for everyone of us. This poem by Rainer-Maria Rilke gets most closely to the heart of the energy of the L2L Sunday.
Give thy beauty freely
without calculating or speaking.
Be silent. It will proclaim thy being for thee
and, in its thousand-fold sense,
at last find every soul.
In this spirit, very kind regards from the Hamburg Live to Love Team.
The London Group of Live to Love met on January 17th 2010 in the centre of the city, near Victoria train station to provide food, hot drinks, food packs and clothes to homeless in the area.
It was already dark when we arrived at 5.30pm, after having prepared the food. The evening was dry and clear, and even though the worst of the cold weather had past it was still really quite cold.
It wasn’t hard to feel compassion for the homeless huddled in the shop doorways facing potentially another night outside in freezing temperatures – despite the fact that many charity groups open extra temporary hostels during the bad weather.

Our ‘Live to Love’ volunteers organized a group blood donation at Red Cross On December 20 as our gift of love in the festive season which also wrapped up our monthly community service in 2009.
As we have witnessed, the number of natural and man made disasters around the world is on the rise, blood demand to help save lifes is vital. Quoting a few interesting facts in Red Cross’ USA website, every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood; more than 38,000 donations are needed every day; one out of ten people admitted in a hospital needs blood and the total blood transfusions in a given year is 14 million (2001 data)…

In Darjeeling, on the way to Butia Busty Monastery, ten minutes walk after Guru Rinpoche’s painting on a rock, there is a stupa which is more than a hundred years old. It is on a little square where we can enjoy a picturesque view of the mountains. This place is so beautiful that it could be a wonderful garden. It has also a very inspiring name- it is called “Mani Dhara” which in Nepali means ‘the hill of Mani” from the holy mantra of Lord Chenrezig.
Many people think that the stupa is the tomb of a rich man and as a tomb, they do not bother to respect it. They sit on it, walk on it, throw garbage around it and go to toilets nearby. This stupa was full of weeds, grass and black with dirt. This situation made some of us quite sad and we decided to clean it.

Continuing with the work of cleaning the borders of the Bidasoa river, we met the 20th December, this time in the district Zalain de Bera de Bidasoa. Wearing boots, gloves and bags, we retook the work of collection residues. In this occasion, it was more difficult to do it because of the snow and the low temperatures of that day (two below cero), although throughout the morning the day became warmer and the sun shined, melting the snow.
