Happy in every way, to be able to bring especially today hot food and warm clothes to our fellow men on the street, we went in high spirits through the streets of Hamburg.
It is freezing winter in all of Germany and an ice cold wind is blowing through the streets of Hamburg.
Fortunately we were well equipped through many donations. Many thanks to all the donors !
Today we met many very young and old homeless people in the city. Some were so chilled to the bone that the contact was limited merely to gestures. That gives a very pure quality to the encounters. The heart needs little words.
A passerby approached us, said he wanted to join and gave us a small donation. An older gentleman joined for a while and went along with us silently smiling.

Once again, the UK Live to Love team undertook the monthly activity of caring for the homeless.
Some members of the team cooked baked potatoes and a nourishing vegetable soup. Others prepared tea, coffee, hot chocolate and Christmas gifts of nuts, fruit and savoury and sweet biscuits. We greeted the homeless in the usual place; they are getting to know us now and the atmosphere was very friendly and enthusiastic. We also brought several bags of warm clothes to give, donated by many UK sangha members.
The homeless were from many different countries and of various age groups and they were all very appreciative, especially in view of the extremely cold weather in the UK at the moment.

In the sangha of Nice, we all agreed to do some environmental activity for this month. As usual, all the volunteers from the sangha and Lama Tcheuky met early in the morning at the meeting point behind our practice center and we all departed to the arboretum of Roure in the countryside 2 hours drive from Nice. This arboretum is a mountainous place dedicated to exotic trees which are planted and looked after. We can find many sorts of plants and trees and also some tibetan trees. Some trees that are planted there, are dedicated to
His Holiness Dalaï Lama and His Holiness Gyalwang Drukpa. Our job for the day was to clean up the place and remove most of the dead wood left there from the cutting down of trees. We collected all the dead wood in order to dispose of it. The people in charge of the arboretum insist on keeping the area clean so that new plants can grow freely. After everyone from the sangha along with Lama Tcheuky contributed to this pleasant physical activity, we went on to liberate some earthworms, as well, at the end of the day with prayers in the spirit of Live to Love.

November in Hong Kong was indeed a Live to Love month full of many exciting activities. We were all very happy to welcome the long awaited visit of His Holiness the Gyalwang Drukpa.
Celebrations : His Holiness announced the official establishment of ‘Live to Love Charitable Foundation’ in Hong Kong at a charity dinner titled ‘Art & Heart’. It was well attended by over 200 guests from local and overseas sponsors and students. ‘Live to Love Charitable Foundation’ will serve as the head-quarter for all of His Holiness’ worldwide Live to Love charitable foundations and activities.
Following the life release conducted by six Hong Kong sanghas in Chengdu on October 17 (the event has been covered in this website before), the Live to Love journey didn’t stop there. The Hong Kong sanghas, led by H.E. Rigden Rinpoche, traveled way beyond the hard-hit areas of Wenchuan, devastated by the massive earthquake in May 2008, to visit a primary school of the ethnic minority in a remote region. The school was re-built after the earthquake. Continue reading ‘Extending Loving-kindness Across the Border in Chengdu’
