On 23rd November 2008, the ADC members again decided to feed the dogs at Memelakha as the manager of the dog pound area was very much worried that the food fed once a day was not enough for all the dogs and more over the sick dogs did not get the chance to eat. The number of sick dogs seems to increase everyday and even during our last visit one dog was dead.
It was sad to see few dogs sitting back and not wanting to eat as the food was not enough due to the limited funds and limited man power to take care of them.

The Druk White Lotus School international support team spent the third Sunday of November ‘Live-2-Loving’ for our 488 children. The school in Ladakh is one of His Holiness’ more complex and long-standing Live to Love projects, having started more than a decade ago.
The new school year commenced at the beginning of November and the school welcomed 93 new children. The school is increasingly reaching out to serve distant villages and remote areas, and welcoming children who would otherwise receive little formal education.

Since I last shared with you about this experience of visiting a hospital in the south of France, slowly, slowly, more people are joining in. Very important has been the presence of Dominique who is committed to L2Love and therefore has been going weekly to visit the patients at the “long stay” ward at the Lavaur hospital. The hospital staff has been very supportive of our presence. They keep reminding us that if we were not there, many of the patients would have no visits.
Some weeks ago, we went through a turning point, we had noticed that our friend was still very depressed; we often found him in the dark in his room when we arrived to see him. He expressed wanting to die. Of course, when one puts oneself in his shoes, it’s easy to see why he would be depressed, no family or friends to visit him, unable to walk, apparently no purpose in his life. I found out that he had stopped physical therapy a few months ago, due to some personality conflict. The point was that he was stuck. We started talking about going back to physical therapy and trying to walk again and it seemed to wake up his interest. Due to HHoliness’ blessings he started walking again on Lhabab Duchen. In order to support him, we now visit him twice a week. In the past, he has been adventurous and travelled through out the world and he dreams about going to Mexico; so I told him that if he continues to exercise and gets to walk, brother monk Charles and I will offer him a ticket to Mexico. This is for a bit further down the road, but if you think about it …
what is a few hundred euros and a few hours of one’s time if you can get someone back to walking again, back to life?
love to you all my brothers and sisters wherever you are
send you my support in continuing to spread your love everywhere

« L’Un est l’Autre » (“The One is the Other”) is a humanitarian association which priority is to provide a hot meal to the most deprived people within the periods during which the deficit of the meals served on Paris is the most important. Its action is articulated with 3 axes: gathering, preparing and distributing meals. Relying on a voluntary work filled with friendship and humanity, 20 to 25 persons take turns to make possible the distribution of more than 1 000 meals, every week since 5 years with a constantly renewed enthusiasm.
Within the actions « Live to Love », Jigme Rinchen Lhamo met Jean-Paul and Michel, cofounders of the association, and with joy and warmth they welcomed our wish to join them. This meeting was an occasion to expose our motivation and the aim of our approach, and in return, to listen to the genesis story of their action and to appreciate all the impact. On the base of a mutual respect and a shared trust, 3 days later, the first benevolent came into the dance and under the form of “micro testimonies” that we chose to lead you.

Once again last Sunday, Norbu Dawa (David) and I went to feed the homeless. We usually go to Euston, Waterloo and Victoria. There was nobody this time in Euston but in waterloo there were many homeless so we were quite busy there. One of them was quite old, he asked us for some cash so we gave him some and then we asked if he would like some food, he said yes with a spark in his eyes so we got him a hot soup and hot bread and butter. Then we talked with him a long time, he enjoyed it i think, it was quite lovely actually to speak with him, he had no much teeth left, so to understand him well, we had to be quite close to him; it felt as though he was an old friend or a member of the family, it was a special moment, a warm friendly conversation despite the outer cold. He said that he sleeps outside because at the moment it is not too cold and he has a sleeping bag and also sometimes it is a bit rough in the hostels depending on who he shares with, he has been hurt in the past so he prefers to keep away. It was funny at one point when talking about the financial difficulties of living in London, he was giving us advice on how to rent cheaply like, renting a garage and getting a stove etc, he was very keen to give us advice, we wondered who is helping who?!

This last Sunday, we joined some friends (nyingmapa) on the site of the future nyingmapa center. We all have been gardening, planting and taking care of the previous tree plantations during all the morning in a very peacefull and cooperative atmosphere. We are happy to help them in this project.

Once again the stories from Germany are grouped together in one section:
Live to Love in the Black Forest 16th and 17th November 2008
Tara was longing to go to the animals’ home to work there. This time we cleaned two rooms for the cats, but the bigger ones, the smaller ones are still sick.
We could see that some of them suffer because of the small room, although the people there try their best to make it nice for them.
In the afternoon I took a big, lovely dog for a long walk, we both had much fun.
I also was asked by the leader of the home, if I would like to visit the people who have an animal from the home to see whether they have good conditions there. I agreed immediately, I think I would like this new task.
