Make the most of TODAY – Needy Single Parents

l2l1.JPG

It was a joy helping out at Jumble Station Desa Mentari and USJ1 Angsana low cost flats, Selangor (Malaysia).
The Jumble Stations were recently launched by two co-founders and are managed by the needy single parents themselves where they sell second hand goods, and do recycling business.
This enables them to be empowered and be financially independent.

LIVE TO LOVE FOR CHILDREN

p1130747.jpg

Dear Sangha,

Originally we wanted to start a Live to Love action for children in January.

In a near neighborhood was an apartement house in which lived many large families from Turkey, Africa and South America. The formerly apartement house is now an office building. The families has moved to the outskirts, the new “slums”.

What to to ?

Ilse Glossner said, the ark is a place, where we could bring some joy to immigrant children.

The ark was launched from a Christian-Protestant institution in Berlin and now it is also a place for children in Hamburg.

Gesa got in touch with Miss Marks.
There was a great openess & gratefulness.
The ark finances itself from contributions from the congregation.

Live to Love

As I leave near the sea in France, I choose as LIVE to LOVE activity, to release some beings. For the third time, I went to the market, bought some
crabs and some langoustines which were still alive and went very quickly to the seaside in order to give them their freedom back. I was very happy.

LIVE to LOVE.

Mexico – Live to Love Activities – March 16, 2008

l-to-l-mexico-1.jpg

Mexico is a country where one may find diverse handicrafts manufactured by indigenous people from different rural regions; they are true artists in different disciplines. Unfortunately, most craftspersons have very limited resources.
Drukpa Mexico has chosen a group of Mazahua embroiderers, placing orders for items that later on may be sold at the Drukpa store.

This act belongs to the Live to Love project since it actively helps a group of very needy indigenous women both economically and preserving a handcrafts tradition, and at the same time it allows us to keep our text books, malas and bells enjoying their excellent craftsmanship.

Live to Love: 5 dogs need your Love!

img_7790_2.jpg

Dear Live to Love colleagues,

from La Palma again, this time just short, as you might know our work with helping animals from our last post.
4 brown puppies about 3 months old had been found abandonned in the mountain and are provisionally looked after, but we need a new home for them urgently. Maybe someone falls in love (this love is not a trap for sure !)?
The black one has to find a new home, because his owners don´t want him any more for troubles with their neighbours, because he repeatedly killed some chicken with another dog. But he is an angel!
Please help, if you can, we will then arrange for a flight.

with love for ALL,

Jigme Dronkar and Jigme Kunsang Senge

Live to Love

Dear Dharma Friends

I want to share with you information about our “L2Love” activities on Sunday 16 March.

After thinking and discussing what we could do on “Live to Love” Sunday in Wroclaw, we decided to visit shelter for homeless dogs and cats. That poor animals live in difficult conditions. Often, because of too many animals in shelter, they received small portions of food. Thus, food is always very badly needed. We colected money, bought food and offered for dogs and cats. We also wanted to do some voluntary work in shelter but that Sunday that wasn’t possible. After agreement with office worker we decided to do
it in April. After that because of Guru Rinpoche Day we all met in the afternoon and practised together. We had very nice Sunday.

With greeting

Sharing Love

p1000165.jpg

When walking with a friend Agnieszka, in Swayambhu (in the beginning of February) we passed by old nun, tired from climbing and carrying wood. I helped her a little to carry wood. We were climbing up to place where she lives, holding hands. It was a beautiful moment of sharing love.

Because I recived photos of that, I thought I would share with you. With love Jigme Pema Khandro(Polish Ewa)

Live to Love in Kathmandu

before_grouping_ourselves.jpg
During the birthday celebration of His Holiness Gyalwang Drukpa and His Eminence Thuksey Rinpoche between 16th and 21st of February 2008, one of the day was dedicated for Live to Love. The nuns at Druk Gawa Khilwa (DGK) Nunnery were well-prepared for this event. Before we arrived, they had already done household survey, covering 48 households or 220 villagers living in close proximity to Druk Amitabha Mountain. We had bought 230 blankets with the sponsorship funds and donation received from several followers of His Holiness and many were were active in solicitating gifts for the villagers. We want to thank Dr. Kong Footcare from Hong Kong who sponsored 50 schoolbags for children in the village.
