LIVE TO LOVE – Drukpa Penang on 17 Feb 2008

A group of 11 of us from Drukpa Penang joined in this month’s activity to visit an Indian family of 6 siblings ranging from 7 to 17 years of age, who had lost both their father and mother. As preparation for their needs, many of us went around to collect used clothing and also bought some basic food stuff for them before the trip.

We came across this family through one of the local newspaper where it was reported that Lions Club, a volunteer service organization, had come to their aids. Through Lions Club we managed to get the address of this family who resides in Sungei Petani, which is about 45-minutes drive from Penang. Two helpful representatives from Lions Club of Kuala Muda, Mr. Jagjit and Mr. Selva guided us to the flats where they live and also acted as our interpreter. However on that day itself, only three of the siblings were there as the other two were in school while one was still at work.

Hamburg, February 2008

p1140566_2.jpg

We have chosen for the third time the station district for the Live to Love activity.

A very cold day in Hamburg, glacial east wind.

Therefore we have opened the jackets for the group photo and then attached stickers and buttons on our clothes. In good spirits and full of openness for everything what may come, we set out ino the station.

Astonishing how many ways of life appear at a rather small place.

Life Release and Bird Feeding in London, UK

Happy GooseOn a gloriously sunny Sunday afternoon, a few of us gathered in Regents Park in central London for a spot of Live to Love activity. After a cup of tea and a chat (at the café where we had a fundraiser for the UK centre last year), we started our tasks.

More News from the Black Forest

Dear sangha,

I repeated the afternoon in the old peoples home this tuesday, cause the Sunday was too restless, visitors coming and going, so that the ones without any visit hadn`t a quite atmosphere. So the homeleader and I to do it on a tuesday, which is good, so that the third sunday is free for another live to love action.
This time I organised a woman with a guitar and all the old people were singing old folk-songs again. And again there was a circle of giving and taking created.
Beside the teaching of getting old oneself one day and being probably sick and dependend like babies I also noticed that some old people become very narrow minded and narrow hearted, which was also a teaching for me. They insist on their seat, on their neighbour, they are not at all flexible anymore. This makes me feel very sorry for them on the one hand and on the other hand it inspired me to practise more and follow the spiritual path, to follow His Holiness example to stay open-minded and open-hearted until the end of our life. To be with old people is a great teaching. Lots of love from Jime Päldrön from Germany
