In response to His Holiness’s urge to dedicate every 3rd Sunday of each month to carry out activities with regards to “Live to Love”, Hong Kong sangha organized a life release in November 2007 and volunteered their services at Crossroad International, a registered non-profit corporation which takes Hong Kong’s quality superseded goods and redistributes them to people in need, locally and internationally (http://www.crossroads.org.hk), in December 2007. We will continue to arrange different activities in 2008 to provide this kind of simple and effective help to our local communities so as to practice the 5 spirits of “Live to Love’.

A charity dinner presided by His Holiness, the 12th Gyalwang Drukpa and his father, His Eminence Bairo Rinpoche, was successfully held on Sunday, November 25, 2007 in Hong Kong. The dinner was a continuation of the “Live to Love” activity kicked off in Hong Kong in March this year. We were fortunate to be able to invite Mr. Chow Kam Leung, Mr. Jeffery Lim and Ms. Regine Tai from Malaysia as our special guests to perform their winning song in ‘Live to Love’ song writing competition and other favorite songs for all of us. Through out the heated auctions of His Holiness’s Calligraphy and the sale of ‘Live to Love’ foldable bags, bookmarks, DVDs etc., we felt an intense support from our guests and really want to say ‘thank you very much’ to them to express our gratitude.
At the closing of the charity dinner, all the guests were happy and joined in together to sing the ‘Live to Love’ song brought this charity dinner to perfection.

THANK YOU DEAR HOLINESS, THROUGH YOUR GREAT WISH TO HELP BEINGS YOU
INSPIRE US TO HELP!
Dear friends,
Thank you so much for your kind support with the carp appeal. Unfortunately, it was not possible to help the fish directly by freeing them into fresh water: after consulting with specialists and related organizations appealing for the humanitarian treatment of animals we became aware that it is not advisable to free the carps in this way.

Be a sponsor and save lives!
Dear Dharma friends,
It is a tradition in Poland to eat fish, carp *, for Christmas eve supper, and it is a custom to buy that fish alive; so a few days before Christmas, the shops and street markets start selling it. It is often kept in appalling conditions; too many fishes in too small containers with not enough water, in same cases they are even packed alive into plastic carrier bags, for a long journey home etc. etc. They go through horrific suffering before death .
We are organizing an appeal in Poland, to buy back still alive and healthy fishes and release them into a fresh water lake. We will also have a stand, with information leaflets, to bring some awareness of they suffering to others. We hope that you will support this action and fulfill His Holiness’s wish which is to help others through a ‘Live To Love’ action.
You can sponsor one fish, or as many as you wish, and we let them free in your name.
Please send us an email with your name and your country and how many fishes you would like to save from this slow and painful death.
It would be most economical if you send money as a group from your center.
One fish weighs between 1 to 3 kilos,
1kg costs .15 PLN - 4.11 EURO
*Carps are large and beautiful fishes, they are of the same kind as in a lake Tso Pema, where His Holiness Gyalwang Drukpa was born.

Last reply email order: 20 December.
