Live to Love June 15, 2008

In the name of the three Jewels, Buddha, Dharma and Sangha we came together this Sunday for a collective Tara-Practice to visit a welfare service, which was established for children and adolescents in times of need.

We all were very happy about Pema Tsültrims presence!

The dogs Gissi, Lola, Indra, Bella, Donna & Finn were present today.

Drukpa Plouray - 15 June 2008

Last Sunday, the 15th June, we offered our Live to Love activity to our Drukpa Plouray Centre, as advised by Drubpön Nawang. He wanted us to boost the voluntary work, especially at this period, prior to His Holiness the Fourteenth Dalai Lama’s visit which will happen next August.
Drubpön Nawang chose among all the work to be done, that we would help in the garden. This is what we did during the whole day, half a day or a few hours for some; but thanks to all of us, we could achieve a lot of work. Some people were also painting the prayer wheel, cutting stones…

Live to Love Drukpa Paris

In the 3rd Sunday of June, we 8 people came to the Drukpa Paris Centre to make a donation and share “a bowl of rice” instead of a meal. A portion of the collected funds allowed Jonathan to buy about 300 earthworms and 400 crickets and locusts, the remaining funds will go towards other Live to Love activities.

Then, feeling the blessing of Our Precious Master, keeping in mind that every life saved with compassion may have positive consequences for all beings, we conducted the practices of Chenrezig, Praise to the 21 Tara, Dharani of Long Life of Amitayus, and Dewachen Aspiration Prayer.

3 More Trees Planted on La Palma Island

apart from our daily routine work for the animals, yesterday on the 3rd sunday of June we (Jigme Dronkar and Jigme Kunsang Senge) planted three more trees:
1 African Plum Tree, like the one we planted 12 years ago (s.photo),
1 Neem Tree, an Indian tree, which is unknown here and supposed to repell insects from the animals. As we use a neem pomade, we thought the proper tree might do a good job as well,
1 climbing tree for greening the fence.

We dedicated the tree planting to the flourishing of our lineage, hoping and wishing it will grow and flourish with these trees for the sake of ALL the beings also on this island.

Then I want to thank His Holiness for his wonderful and helpful live to love teaching on Stress, which I translated into german as a little live to love activity yesterday too. Best of all, I received immediate feedback from german psychotherapists, who were equally impressed and are now spreading the article to clients and colleagues.

London Hospital Visit

This Sunday a small group of 5 Live to Lovers visited the “forgotten ward” at St Mary’s Hospital in London. Here there are 20 men and women who are quite elderly and frail, not necessarily in terminal condition who receive few or no visitors. The hospital administrators kindly allowed us to visit these old timers just to have a chat. They are trying to bring in entertainers and other outsiders in an attempt to raise the energy on the ward, making it a nicer place to stay. We all had an interesting time. Some were chatty, others less so but all were left with a good experience. We were left reflecting on how open they were to our visit, how they bore their suffering with good grace and how we felt a touch of sadness that some were isolated from friends and family. So it was one of those rare win-win situations where all sides benefited. We have asked to go once a month to visit the ward, and this has been approved. This will now become one of our regular activities, along with the gardening project.

Action from Tahiti

We have decided to join an association for the protection of the environment, Saturday june 7th. This day was dedicated to the plantation of traditional trees but nowadays uncommon species, either for their medicinal qualities or for their fruits. This plantation was made on the height of Papeeno valley, nearly at the center of Tahiti island. The access to that place is possible only with 4 wheels car or by feet (our case). Around 40 to 50 trees have been planted at places where soil needed to be stabilizised, and under a good refreshing rain.
For the futur, we are in touch with local groupments which act for protecting environment (cleaning seashore, river, lagoon or others places) and we wish to join them in their action. Alone, our efficacy is very limited (only few square meters cleaned in may on the Faa’a lagoon !).
We had a great joy to share this action with other people from Tahiti, of which a group of teenagers from a school.

Live to Love - Drukpa Plouray 8 June 2008

Encouraged by Drubpön Nawang, on the occasion of the Guru Yoga retreat led by Lama Namgyal, we organised a Live to Love activity at Drukpa Plouray.
We bought around fifty boxes of earthworms and maggots in fishing shops. Those animals were destined to be killed, pierced by hooks.
Lama Namgyal gave a teaching on Live to Love and showed us the meaning of the activity initiated by His Holiness. He reminded us how every act of love, even by releasing only one worm can have some consequences on other beings on the planet.
He quoted the example of great masters as Chatral Rinpoche who releases regularly a lot of animals like fishes.
After having practiced the King of Aspirational Prayer, the Noble Aspirational Prayer of Maitreya and the Aspirational Prayer of Lha Tsewa, everyone took one or several boxes of worms. We released them on the blessed ground of the Centre.
We dedicated this activity to the long life of Our Precious Guru. By His activity may He be able to remain with us as long as possible and free infinity of beings from the samsara.
