Last saturday, when we stopped on the road on La Palma mountains to pick lettuce and herbs for the horse, there was a small cat sitting at the roadside in miserable state, nearly starved, only one eye left. But when we approached her, she ran away frightened and we did not have the time to search her and ask the neighbours around there, as we had an appointment with clients. But we kept thinking of her and had the feeling, that she actually was asking us for help. So the next day, on the 3rd sunday morning, we went up again to look for her with food, vitamins, medicine… But she was not there any more.
So we went downhill, asking around and finally found a lady, who had seen her in the area. Searching the place for a long time, we could not find her. So we decided to give our telephone number to the neighbours and when we wanted to leave, she was suddenly lying there on the side of the small road just 5 meters away. She was apparently happy about the food and vitamins and the caressing. We also were very happy to have found her or better, that she found us. We thought, we might save her life, even in her very bad physical state, but she died in the night, probably from interior ulcerations. We are very sad, but slowly we start to understand, that the love we could give her on her last day and our prayers might be an essential help for her.
