Pressure was mounting as the 3rd Sunday in March was approaching and I had no formal “Live to Love” plan. How could I proclaim myself to be a follower of His Holiness if I did not practise His teachings? The many recent articles had been so inspiring that at least I was in the right mind-set. Maybe I could deliver some food and clothes on Sunday to the Emmaus center (founded by Abbé Pierre to help the homeless). It seemed trivial compared to some of the other accomplishments per stories on the website.
However as we were driving there to deliver them, an “untidy” toothless man hailed us down as he himself was looking for this place, hoping for solace and help to find work in the city. No doubt he was the person I must help today. We asked him to jump into the car, which was already appreciated since he was feeling weak, not having eaten since yesterday. Leaving him at the Emmaus community we discretely left him some money to help him eat in the coming week. Is this proof that when one’s intentions are ripe the corresponding situation arises so that we may take action? Actually it seems not so difficult to put “Live to Love” into action if we are open to whatever crosses our path. Long Live His Holiness and the Drukpa Lineage. Jigme Phende – France.
