Since few months ago, Spanish Sangha´s members have held some meetings to develop the “Live to Love” activity in our city. San Sebastian is placed on the North cost of Spain and it has an important fishing tradition. Every day, thousands of fishes are captured and brought to one of the many fishing ports that are all along the Vasque Country cost.
The local people are also very fond of fishing.
This is the reason why we have decided to participate in the “Live to love” activity, by releasing lifes; bringing sea beings back to their natural habitat.
So we started our task going to the fishmongers searching for any alive being in order to release it. Unfortunately most of them were dead but we could find some lobsters and clams still alive.
Also, more frequently, we use to buy sea worms and crabs that are used as baits. This way, we save their lifes and the lifes of those fishes to be captured with these baits.
However, our help is nothing compare to the massive exploitation of the sea fauna that is happening nowadays, not only here but all over the world. We hope this help grows up and can help more and more beings.
